TAFF organised event at Suntec City

As a class for Future Fashion Project workshop, we have chance to go visit the TAFF Indian Bazaar event at Suntec City Hall. We experience to see many local products made from India. I found out that there’re many handcrafts from India. There’re variety of handcraft products such as clothes, fabrics, and accessories like shoes, tote bag has its own unique style that capture my attention. Such as the traditional outfit on the left picture, based from the owners of clothing shop, they mentioned that most of the fabrics made through indigo dyeing process, which is harmless to the environment.

One thing that I’m interested is the delicate design and colourful fabrics, I love how most of their clothes and accessories design is playing with many details. For the prints & weave, I like how they use the India’s heritage inspire prints & block colours into their design, which is very beautiful. Other than that I found out the handmade accessories from stone (rings& earrings) has a very cheap prices from $10 to $20 only.

In addition, I enjoyed to see the live version of making bracelet from local Indian people, they basically use the colourful bangle and mould it, bend and roll it around the metal bracelet as a finish form. Which is very interesting to see.

At the end, we’ve got the free press kits from the TAFF organisation, which are the black file folder, shampoo, and few stationary from them as a gift to visited. I’d say that many of Indian made products are quite similar to Thailand’s local products in terms of design (that is colourful) that inspired by its heritage design and price ranges (most of products) that is quite affordable. However, some of it might be set in high prices due to its handcraft and long process of making.
