Singapore Night Festival is occurred every year in Singapore for two weeks every August. They transforms the Bras Basah/Bugis heritage precinct into a midsummer’s celebration of sorts. Every year the SNF features a theme, and previous editions have showcased international acts such as the spellbinding ‘Gardens of Angels’ by Theater Tol (2015), and the dazzling ‘Fuerzabruta’ by Ozono Producciones (2012), where an aerial dancer sprinkles confetti while gyrating to live music (www.littledayout.com, 2018).

The field trip was occurred on 24 August with FFI classmate and Ms.Joyce. We spent for about 3 to 4 hours there, where we walk from SMU campus, National Museum of Singapore to Singapore Art Museum. Started off on 6 pm as we have dinner at SMU Campus where they had food pop up market. Their food prices are affordable and fulfilling e.g. New Zealand Beef with fries, Nachos & Tacos, Spaghetti, and more with not more than $12. Additional with beverages sponsors like Jim Beams. The class had dinner there for an hour, we chat, listening to the live music and taking photos. Then we move on to National Museum of Singapore, me and Hannah visited the pop up karaoke place on 2nd floor. We were the first customer to get free entrance and get the free T-shirt from them. They also showcase the decoration backdrop where we’re be able to take photos with other accessories cut board.

Another one is Illuminating Light Installations “Aquatic Dream”. It’s where National Museum’s lawn gets transformed into a forest below the sea. The installation which will take you under the ocean and surround you with sea creatures.

The third place is Singapore Art Museum where we watch the spectacular light show “Odyssey”. The Singapore Art Museum facade turns into a canvas for an immersive light projection. It’s where lights transformed to abstract arts, words, humans, and animals. I love how creative the light animation they made as if it was VR experiences.

The last stop is at National Design Centre, where the “World of Wearable Art” exhibition showcased. Viewing the eight finalist garments from the World of Wearable Art, an international design competition which attracts scores of entries each year. All the garments are very creatively designed. My favourite is dress like swan with metallic colours on right picture above. I like because it’s something that I would wear in real life.
